Overcoming Inertia

Last night hit me like a ton of bricks.

It’s been a busy month for me, with a lot of traveling, a lot of continuing education, and a lot of formal education….as well as another career shift. 

In this situation, something had to give. Unfortunately, it seems to have been me.

Last night I just felt horrible, and after my final client, I went home, chugged some Nyquil, and passed out.

This morning, I cancelled all of my clients and slept until noon.

Inertia is a funny thing. We all need a rest, but it’s very easy to get caught up in the warmth and comfort of that bed, and never get up.

Sometimes, need to do whatever it takes to get the ball rolling again.

And that’s what I’m doing now.

I’m voice dictating this blog, as I’m doing laps around the gym, just to get things moving.

Is this glamorous? No!

But, I’m definitely not in good enough shape to start swinging kettlebells around, so I might as well do something active in order to gather momentum. For now, this is exercise correctives and a little bit of brisk walking.

Sometimes just taking that first step, literally, if enough to swing the momentum in your favor.

So overcome that inertia, and get out there.
